As part of the athletics meeting in Zurich, five of the decisions will be held on Wednesday, 9 September, on the Sechläutenplatz: women's high jump, long jump and men's shot put as well as the two runs over 3000 metres. A synthetic track will be specially laid out for the two men's and women's races. By the way, access to the standing-room area is free of charge! We are already looking forward to it.

Five years ago it was held for the first time, the Christmas market on Sechseläutenplatz. Around 200 stalls are set up there each Advent season. Because the city is obliged to re-approve the Christmas markets every five years, a new tender was recently issued.

Sechseläutenplatz is being given a breather. It presents itself elegantly empty and invites you to linger and stroll. For the traditional Sechseläuten on 20 April 2020, it will once again be ready for the annual festival.

At 0.20 a.m. sharp, the Swiss Casino Zurich's big New Year's Eve fireworks display will be set off over Lake Zurich. Enjoy the colourful play of light in the night sky.

In the foyer of the Opera House you can look forward to Christmas again this year with our Musical Advent Calendar. From 1 to 23 December, small concerts will take place every day at 5.3O p.m. with free admission to brighten up your Christmas season.

This year, the Wienachtsdorf will once again be set up on Sechseläutenplatz. From 21 November, around 100 huts will once again nestle together to form a cosy village that invites visitors to skate, feast, browse, stroll and linger. The offerings in the huts change every week, so it's worth stopping by several times.

On Saturday, 10 August, the whole of Zurich will be raving at the Street Parade from 1 pm to midnight. From Thursday evening until early Monday morning, around 100 large and small parties will take place throughout the city and the Zurich agglomeration.

The Züri Fäscht starts on 5 July and thrills around 2 million visitors every three years. From the Zürihorn via Sechseläutenplatz to the Landiwiese, the entire lake basin becomes a festival hut. In addition to food stalls from all over the world and rides for young and old, the traditional fireworks display will once again be the highlight of the festival. As at the last Zürifest, there will be three fireworks displays this year: on Friday at 10.30 p.m. for children, on Saturday evening for everyone and on Sunday night for the young and young at heart. The fireworks will be accompanied by appropriate or age-appropriate music.
