The 20th Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) is celebrating a historic milestone: with 140,000 visitors, the festival has set a new record and cemented its reputation as the second-largest film festival in the German-speaking world.
Every day, stars such as Jude Law, Pamela Anderson, Richard Gere and Kate Winslet presented their new films and attracted numerous fans to the green carpet and the cinemas. This year, the new festival centre – the shining heart of the ZFF on Sechseläutenplatz – was also a hit. Roger Crotti, President of the ZFF, describes the brilliant success: ‘Our numerous partners and guests from the city and canton of Zurich or from abroad, whom I personally guided through the new centre, were without exception impressed and happy. This imposing wooden structure fascinates with its luxurious seating and invites you to linger.
The festival centre was also used by the organisers of the Cycling and Para Cycling Road World Championships in the run-up to the film festival. This commendable co-operation shortened the set-up and dismantling times between the two major events and conserved resources and thus the environment.

Vom Montag, 18. Mai bis zum Mittwoch, 05. August sanieren die Vekehrsbetriebe Stadt Zürich (VBZ) Tramschienen in der Kurve an der Stadelhoferstrasse zwischen Stadelhoferplatz und Bahnhof Stadelhofen. Die Schienen sind stark abgefahren und müssen ersetzt werden.
From 25 September, films will be celebrated at Bellevue. The Zurich Film Festival is opening its doors again and will be showing films in Zurich until 5 October. The centre of the festival is Bellevue with its iconic pavilion on Sechseläutenplatz. International stars, world premieres and film fans will be bringing our neighbourhood to life during this time.
